Im Keyla M., a sophmore in Mr. Holland’s ART 2 class. Im also a visual arts student in the Ad-Design specialty. My favorite type of artwork includes all abstact design. I prefer abstract in dark colors though, kinda like Emo but this dosen’t mean I am! =]I plan on studying graphic and or Interior design, so art is a big part of my future. I enjoy drawing abstract designs myself. I think i enjoy it too much… (its all over my notes, papers, essays, my wall, furniture, mirror, my backpack!, and alot of times on myself!) Im not really good at drawing things, just my own little doodles! ;] But if i want to be a succesfull watever-kind of designer i need to learn how to draw actuall real live things! (And thats Mr. Holland’s job. lol)

As seen, this piece is not all that great, but it was the first one of the year so I get some credit. =)

The bottle of lotion is the object I chose to draw. I wanted to use this object because I would get a chance to see if I do a good job in giving a round shape form and texture.  For the first drawing, I don’t consider it that bad because the only practice I have had in doing this kind thing was in Art1 so to me, this piece isn’t completely bad. I used value as best as I could especially on the shadows and even though it isnt very acurate, the blending from dark and light is acceptable and I tried to show the glimmer of the lights best as I could and I did this by using my eraser and go through it  where the shinny parts caused by the Iight. I also added shadow corresponding to the objects porportions for a more realistic tone.

Fruit and Art

For a first time experimenting with colors, I dont think this is bad at all. This composition of mixed object madeup of different objects available to me. I tried blending in as much color as possible with a light stroke  to create lighter shades in the piece but at the same time good value. Lots of colors that arent really visible in the drawing are included in there for example yellow black brown etc. 

As I said, for the first time doing this, I dont think its terrible just “premature”. I would give myself a 9! =D
